Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Life frequently feels like a journey full of problems, misleading impressions, and moments of stress. However, God calls us to a unique standard, one that requires us to transcend our natural desires and actively seek peace with everyone. Not just with those who agree with us or are easy to love, but with *everyone*. This is not easy at all, but it captures the essence of our Deliverer, who lived in peace in spite of being rejected.
Regardless of peace, we are called to sacredness—a daily existence set aside for God. To be blessed means to give up, not to be perfect. It is the daily decision to choose God's ways above our own, to reflect His personality as it would be natural for us, in our thoughts and behaviors. The commitment in this part is sobering: without holiness, we cannot see the Master. This reminds us of the importance of living in a way that reflects His perfection and love.
Today, consider whether there are any areas of your life that lack peace. Is it true that you have a genuine desire for sacredness? Allow God to help you lay down pride, harshness, or carelessness and embrace the path of peace and sacredness.
Prayer:
Thank you for calling us to a life of blessing and love. Help me become a peacemaker, even when it is difficult, and live in a way that honors You. Purge my heart of anything that hinders my walk with You. May my life reflect Your worship and blessings, so that others may see You through me. In Jesus' name, Amen
