Bible Verse:
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." - Acts 3:19 (NIV)
Message:
Repentance shows a new relationship to the Lord. It is not just a question of feeling sorry for having sinned, but it means a real change of heart and direction. Repentance is turning from one's sin and turning to God with reception of His mercy and grace.
Surprisingly, an apology promises making it whole again. Acts 3:19 encourages us that when one turns to God with a true heart, he wipes away our sins, giving us a time of fresh starts. A fresh start given to a person is actually a change in every part of life. This can be peace after the feelings of guilt, joy after sadness, and hope after hopelessness.
Forgiveness is God's gift, but it is given only to those who humble themselves in sincerity. Repentance is not an act; rather, it is what one does daily regarding the will of the Lord. As we repent and seek Him, He draws to us and transforms our hearts to the doing of His righteousness.
For what in your life do you need to say, "I'm sorry"? Do not wait another minute. God is waiting for your repentance with a forgiving, enabling embrace.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for Your infinite mercy and love. I now come before You in humility, praying for forgiveness of my misdeed. Lord, wash me clean and enable me to avoid things separating me from You. Fill me with Your Spirit; lead me in the right direction. Give me the life of liberty and joy through Your forgiveness and holy name. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection:
Take a moment today to reflect on your heart. Confess to God where you have offended, and claim His promise to cleanse you. Let His love transform and transition you into a whole new season of spiritual refreshing.
