When Fear Knocks, Let Faith Answer

Devotional Message

📖 Scripture:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Fear is one of the enemy's most subtle weapons. It creeps in quietly, whispering lies that make us doubt God's promises and question our worth. It tells us, "You can't," when God has already said, "You can do all things through Christ."

The truth is that fear is not from God. Fear is a thief that robs us of peace, purpose, and progress. The spirit of God that He gives to His children is power-the right power to keep standing even if the ground shakes beneath him. And love can perfect fear (1 John 4:18). And a sound mind, calm, steady, and anchored in His truth.

Every time fear knocks at your heart's door, remember who dwells within you. The same God who parted the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, and raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you. You aren't fighting this battle alone-God stands ready to fight for you, with blazing courage fear will never defeat.

Lift your eyes to heaven whenever you are afraid of tomorrow, feel uncertain about what comes next, or are overwhelmed by things outside your control. Let your eyes rest on him who appears before you, who, more than any statue, speaks encouragement enough from the storm to strike water.

Faith isn't the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward in spite of it-to trust that God's hand will never fail.

💭 Reflection:

What fears have held you back recently? Bring them today into God's presence. Surrender them in prayer and speak His promises over them. In facing them with faith, the power of fear is broken.

🙏 Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You that fear does not come from You. When I am afraid, help me remember Your presence and Your promises. Make my faith firm in emphasizing Your love and power. Where there is fear, instill peace; in anxiety, trust; in weakness, Your strength.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
