Seeking Him Every Single Day
February 21st, 2026
Scripture: "Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his face continually." — 1 Chronicles 16:11 (KJV)
Devotional Message
Some mornings, I wake up feeling completely empty. The weight of yesterday's problems is still on my shoulders, and the thought of having to face another day is too much. Perhaps you understand exactly what I'm saying. You might have woken up this morning and thought about how you were going to get through the next twenty-four hours.
Today, I want you to know something important. You shouldn't have to carry life by yourself. You were never meant to get through your problems on your own. The God who made the heavens and the earth and knows the name of every star is inviting you to something wonderful. He is asking you to look for Him. Not just one time. Not just when things go wrong. But all the time. Every day. At all times.
David told the people of Israel to look for the Lord and His strength because he had been there himself. David knew what it was like to be scared for his life. He knew what it was like to be betrayed, to fail, and to be sad. But David found one truth that never changed, no matter where he was. God was always there. God was always enough.
We don't just tick off a list of religious rituals every morning when we seek God. It's not just about reading a few verses and saying a quick prayer before leaving. The way our hearts are set is what true seeking is all about. It means getting up every day with a real desire to learn more about our Father. It means going to Him first instead of our phones, worries, or plans.
Consider what it means to look for someone's face. You are giving someone your full attention when you look them in the eye. Without saying anything, you're telling them that they matter to you. When we look for God's face, we are putting ourselves in a place where we can meet Him in a deep and personal way. We are telling Him that nothing else is as good as being close to Him.
This is a strong lesson I've learned over the years. We don't have to be perfect to keep looking for God. That doesn't mean we'll never have doubts or feel down. What it does mean is that we keep going back to Him. We fall down and get back up. We roam and then come back. We feel far away, so we get closer. It's not about being perfect on the journey to find God. It is about not giving up.
Another lovely truth from this verse is that we find God's strength when we look for Him. Our strength as humans runs out very quickly. We get tired. We get mad. We get to the end of our rope faster than we want to admit. But God's power never goes away. His strength never goes away. We can get an endless supply of grace, courage, and strength from Him when we seek Him. This helps us get through the hardest times in life.
Friend, I don't know what you're going through today. Your marriage might be having problems. Your money might be falling apart. Your health might be getting worse, or your heart might be breaking over a wayward child. I want to encourage you to look up and seek the One who moves mountains, no matter what mountain is in front of you. Don't give up. Don't stop looking for Him. He says that if you look for Him with all your heart, you will find Him.
Today is the day you choose to always look for God. Make it a part of your daily life. Look for Him in the morning. Look for Him in the afternoon. When you can't sleep at night, look for Him. He is waiting for you with open arms, ready to give you strength when you are tired.
Prayer:
Dear God, I come to You today with a heart that wants to know. You better. I'm sorry for the times I relied on my own strength instead of looking for Yours. Help me seek Your presence all the time, not just when things go wrong. Lord, bring me closer to You. Give me Your strength and let Your face shine on me. I put my whole life and everything I face in Your hands. In the name of Jesus,
