Topic: The Quiet Reward of Waiting on the Lord
Bible Verse (KJV):
“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
— Lamentations 3:25
Devotional Message
Waiting is one of the most difficult spiritual disciplines. In a world that celebrates speed, instant results, and quick answers, waiting can feel like weakness or delay. Yet Lamentations 3:25 reminds us that waiting on the Lord is not wasted time—it is sacred time.
This verse was written during a season of deep pain and national sorrow. Jerusalem had fallen, and hope seemed distant. Still, in the middle of grief, the writer declared a powerful truth: the Lord is good to those who wait for Him. This teaches us that God’s goodness is not dependent on our circumstances. His goodness remains constant, even when life feels uncertain.
Waiting on God does not mean doing nothing. It means trusting Him when we do not understand the process. It means choosing faith over frustration, prayer over panic, and hope over despair. God often works in silence, shaping our character and strengthening our faith while we wait.
The verse also highlights seeking God with our soul. True waiting involves active seeking—spending time in prayer, meditating on His Word, and aligning our hearts with His will. When we seek Him sincerely, we discover that His presence sustains us, even before our answers arrive.
God’s timing is always perfect. What feels like a delay to us is often divine preparation. Those who wait on the Lord are not forgotten; they are being prepared to receive His best.
