Topic: Love That Reflects God

Bible Verse (KJV):

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”
— 1 John 4:7 (KJV)

Devotional Message

Love is more than just a feeling; it is a divine quality. Scripture says that love comes from God. In our everyday lives, we are mirroring the very nature of God when we make the decision to love others with authenticity—beyond convenience, emotion, or self-interest.

John, the apostle, reminds Christians that love is a sign of spiritual rejuvenation. To show that we really know God is to love as He loves. This love is selfless, forgiving, patient, and caring. It transcends boundaries, mends strained bonds between people, and gets rid of anger.

God calls His children to live differently in a world that is becoming more and more divided, hateful, and self-centred. Our affection should be evident. When words fail, it should speak, and when others turn away, it should take action. For a believer, loving one another is essential to our faith and is not an option.

We become tools of harmony, healing, and hope when we let God's love flow through us. Today is a chance to show God's love by being humble, compassionate, and understanding.

Lessons to Learn from 1 John 4:7

1. Love Comes from God

True love is not man-made; it flows from a relationship with God. Staying connected to Him helps us love rightly.

2. Love Is Proof of Spiritual Growth

A loving heart reflects a transformed life and a genuine walk with God.

3. Knowing God Means Living in Love

Our knowledge of God is incomplete if it does not produce love toward others.

4. Love Is an Action, Not Just Words

God’s love is demonstrated through deeds—compassion, forgiveness, and service.

5. Love Unites and Heals

God uses love to restore relationships and bring unity where there is division.

Reflection Question

How can you intentionally show God’s love to someone today—through your words, actions, or attitude?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the source of true love. Help me to love others as You have loved me. Remove every form of bitterness, pride, and selfishness from my heart. Let my life reflect Your love so that others may see You through me. Teach me to love sincerely, patiently, and sacrificially. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
